Chicken parm for dinner and it was exactly what I wanted. Big portion, crispy coating, sauce tasted like it actually simmered for a while instead of coming out of a can. Had enough left over for lunch the next day.…

The place has that classic Rush Street energy, a little loud but in a good way, and our server was quick without hovering. Felt like old school Chicago Italian done right.★★★★★

the middle, like a straw. It was a light sauce with big flakes of Parmesan cheese! Before you're food comes you're served delicious, warm bread. You take the table olive oil, pour it on your tiny plate and add Parmesan cheese. Stir the bread in there and then ENJOY. I'll be doing this at home! The atmosphere is alive with laughter and chatter. Not overly loud, as you can still hear one another from across the table. I found the noise charming as it gave me the feeling of a full house with family. And feel free to dress up or be a bit more casual! We sat upstairs, but there is a great covered patio and space downstairs. I would be back should I be in Chicago again!★★★★★

and downstairs!Bread was brought to the table as well as olive oil and Parmesan cheese. Our server greeted us and asked if we wanted beverages and if we were celebrating anything with our dinner. As he served tables around us, he let us know that the serving sizes were very large. To share. The menu doesn’t explicitly say onshore, but everything we saw was sharing size. Including the chocolate cake!We orders the house salad (I added beets to mine) and the chicken Parmesan to share between the two of us. Both were split at the table by our waiter.Staff took turns filling glasses, clearing plates, and ensuring we were taken care of and happy.Highly recommend!★★★★★

dinner. So glad we did.We had a 6 pm reservation on a Tuesday evening. There was a short line at the hostess station, then we got seated quickly at a nice 4-top inside. We’d considered outdoor dining and many others were doing just that, but it was still very warm out.The hostess gave us menus as we got seated and very quickly, someone came by with water and a basket of sliced warm bread. A moment later, our waiter, Louis came by to greet us. He was very pleasant. He’s been there for 29 years, so he knows this place, knows the menu and knows what the kitchen can and can’t do. We needed time to study the dinner menu and wine list. When Louis returned, we asked a few menu questions and ordered a bottle of Stag’s Leap Merlot. After enjoying some wine, Louis took our dinner order. The 2 of us shared:- Brick Chicken with Pan Sauce and BroccoliniThe Brick chicken takes about around a half hour to prepare and that worked out perfect for us and gave us time to enjoy the wine.Let me tell you about this meal…. It was AMAZING! This was the best chicken I have ever eaten! Crispy skin, great seasoning, a wonderful pan sauce and boneless except for the wing drumette. For us, the meal was large as it was a whole chicken (minus the legs) and a whole serving of pasta. We took half these meals home and Louis also packaged up some extra pan sauce. As we were working on our last glasses of wine, Louis asked of we would mine bumping over a table as they were preparing a number of tables for a large party. No problem with us. He also brought us each out a glass of house made Limoncello as a gesture. Not only do I look forward to returning to a Rosebud on our next visit to the Chicago area, I also look forward to trying to make my own Brick Chicken at home.Thank you for a great experience Rose Bud on Rush, Louis, his partner and the entire staff.★★★★★

to close, so we just ordered a small app and had a drink chatting with the bartender. She was so nice and made us feel welcomed. She talked to us as if we were locals, which might not sound like something to anyone else, but we've spent such time in Chicago, we feel like locals.Downstairs was dark with red nuances and a a handful of little 2-4 top tables. There is outside seating, but that is no different than any other restaurant's outside. Inside is where the real charm is and shouldn't be skipped or missed.★★★★★

a classic chicken parm should be—crispy, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and generously portioned. Comfort food done right.
